5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommend!!, October 24, 2012
The words zombie and plausible plot line rarely coexist- but they do in Linda Zimmerman's book! I was originally drawn to HVZA because I live in the Hudson Valley and recognized many of the locations mentioned in the book. I also happen to really like zombies :). What I discovered once I started reading, however, was that it was so much more than brains and gore. You grow to love the characters, and cheer for their small victories throughout the story. This book kept me up reading late into the night. The description of how the disease originates and the subsequent onset of the apocalypse is so realistic that it had me seriously thinking about "what if" scenarios while mentally stockpiling my virtual shelter. Should something like this ever go down, I hope Becks is in my corner!! This book has just the right mix of science, horror, action, tragedy, humor and (ultimately) hope. I also highly recommend Linda's Ghost Investigator series of non-fiction books!
