Another event is being held the next day on a similar topic over in Nyack, NY. “Dying to Bloom,” New York’s first retail shop specializing in natural burial products, is hosting a Tea & Talk with Historian/Author, Linda Zimmermann.

“The Victorians had fascinating mourning customs, from elaborate rituals and mourning clothes to restricted social customs. Please join us for an afternoon cup of tea with Linda Zimmermann as she discusses the Victo...rians’ intrinsic obligations of honoring the dead,” said Kerry Potter, Founder, Dying to Bloom. “You’ll also be able to see a mourning dress (circa 1860) on display and samples of Victorian Hair Art.”

“Dying to Bloom’s” Tea & Talk: Victorian Mourning Etiquette and Customs with Linda Zimmermann is being held Sunday, June 11, at 3:00pm Dying to Bloom located in the historic St. George Building at 48 Burd Street in Nyack, across the street from Squash Blossom. The cost for the event is $15, with proceeds going to the Rockland County Green Cemetery Fund.
